Rated Beginners Open

Another attendance record was set on March 23, as 166 players filled the Center for the Rated Beginners Open. The previous record had been 160 players on New Year's Eve. Even though the tournament ran late, the players had a good time.

The results:

High School - Adult
Vincent Price, John Wabeck, and Patrick Keeney split the lead with with 3.5 points apiece

Middle School
Byron Hood won the first place trophy over co-champion William Lu in a blitz playoff. Both had scored 4-0 during the tournament.

Elementary School
First Grader Andrew Freix and Bradley Tse were co-champions in the section for students up through fifth grade.

Primary School
Craig Saperstein, Adam Hood and Jesse Freeman were co-champions in the K-3 Section, all with 4-0 records in the tournament. Craig won the blitz playoff.
